Songs of Optimism and Happiness

In conjunction with Turn Optimism Into Action series:

Versatile performer, local resident and friend of Short Stories, Deborah (Deb) Fennelly is delighted to share songs of Optimism and Happiness in our Community Space on Friday, March 31, as part of the Optimism Project and Mental Health Awareness Month .

Deb is at home in many venues including musical theater; Rose Alvarez (Bye Bye Birdie), Gladys (The Pajama Game); Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady), and Emily Benson (Of Thee I Sing), Mary Bailey (It’s a Wonderful Life), Operetta, (Peep -bo (The Mikado) and Opera. Princess Ninette (Love for Three Oranges), Cherubino, Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro) Television; (Red Oaks) (The Blacklist) and Film (She Has a Name). She also teaches voice and piano to area children and adults, and paints watercolor landscapes and holiday ornaments.

John Pivarnik, pianist, is organist/choirmaster at Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Essex Fells and also works as a freelance instrumental and vocal accompanist, performing solo recitals frequently in the metropolitan area. Mr. Pivarnik did his undergraduate studies in piano and organ at Susquehanna University, and pursued graduate study at Temple University, as well as Vocal Accompanying and piano at Cologne Musik Hochscule in Cologne, Germany. He maintains a piano studio in Madison, also, with students in Short Hills, South Orange, and Essex Fells. He is also adjunct piano teacher at the Pingry School in Martinsville and Caldwell University.
