Join us for a holiday storytime visit from Mrs. Claus, thanks to her good friend and author of the "Sleigh Bell Letters" series, Leslie Lajewski! Come listen to Mrs. Claus read the story about Dasher, one of Santa's other reindeer!

Dan Baldan will be paying Short Stories a visit! Come check out Dan’s legendary performance and you’ll see just why he’s so legendary. Dan plays covers and original music within a wide range of styles and genres - a “Dan-of-all-trades.”

Jeff, a solo guitarist and singer and long-time Madison resident, has been a frequent performer at Short Stories since we opened in 2015. He covers artists from the Beatles to Creedence to Jimmy Buffett to Johnny Cash.Jeff describes his music as acoustic folk/rock + a little twang. Performance starts at 2 and ends at 4.

Music: Bill Meyer & Gerry Shamey
Saturday 12/29 3:30 pm

Gerry Shamey (vocals and guitar) and Bill Meyer (bass) are joining forces to play at their favorite local bookstore! Their songs include classics by James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg, John Mayer, and many others. Performance starts at 3:30 and ends at 5.

Music: The Bookshop Band

Short Stories Bookshop & Community Hub is deeply honored to be hosting The Bookshop Band as they tour the U.S. this winter.

Tickets are $15 each ($10 with college ID) and are available for sale at the bookshop. Seating will be limited and will be first come, first served. The show will run from 7 pm to 9 pm.

The Bookshop Band represent a fascinating and contemporary take on the English folk tradition. Beth Porter and Ben Please bring the books to the stage along with a multitude of instruments, including cello, harmonium, glockenspiel, guitars and ukuleles which, along with their distinct voices, create a cinematic sound that draws the audience right in to a highly intimate performance, at once touching and mesmerizing, heart wrenching and funny.
